Ice Princess:
After the sudden death of her parents, author Erica Falck returns to her childhood home in the small west coast community of Fjällbacka. When Alex Wijkner, one of Erica’s childhood friends, is found murdered, she is drawn into a web of deception, lies and hidden secrets. Something that happened 25 years earlier still casts its ugly shadow over Alex and the people around her. At first reluctantly, but then with ever growing curiosity, Erica decides to find out who is willing to take such drastic measures in order to prevent old truths from coming out. At the same time she has to deal with personal problems, a budding romance and the feeling that, at the age of 35, she doesn’t really know what she wants to do with her life…
The Preacher:
An early summer morning, a little boy sets off to play at King's Crevice in Fjällbacka. His games come to an abrupt end when he finds the body of a naked young woman staring up at him. The police are called to the scene. They soon realise that the woman has been murdered. The mystery becomes even more perplexing when they find out what lies underneath the woman's body, namely the skeletons of two other women who have been reported missing since the late 1970s…
The Preacher is a superb crime novel that skillfully weaves the past together with the present. The characters are shaped with great psychological insight, the Free Church milieu is thrillingly described and highly topical, and the excellent plot is full of surprises.
The Stonecutter:
When one of Fjällbacka's lobster fishermen finds a little girl drowned, her death is said to be an accident. But the autopsy reveals traces of fresh water combined with soap in her mouth. The conclusion is that someone has drowned the girl indoors, undressed her and then thrown her into the sea. But who could have wanted to do such a horrible thing to a little girl? And why? Patrik Hedström, whose girlfriend Erica has just given birth to their first child, once again becomes involved in a complicated murder investigation together with his colleagues at Tanumshede's police station. Behind Fjällbacka's idyllic façade lurks another reality - with feuding neighbors, family conflicts and child pornography rings.
