Booktopia Comments
Clancy and Millie and the Very Fine House comes from the award-winning picture book team, Libby Gleeson and Freya Blackwood.

Clancy has moved from a small cosy house in a small cosy street to a large and uninviting house in a large and uninviting street. His father loves the new space and his mother loves the new kitchen, but Clancy misses his old house terribly. As despair sets in Clancy hears the small voice of Millie, the little girl from next door. Together they build towers to the sky and trains the length of the garden. They build houses from boxes and so with the help of his new friend, Clancy discovers the home he thought he had lost forever.

This is a rich story about moving house, friendship and belonging. It will resonate with small children as they begin to experience change, friendship and finding their place in the world (even if that world is as small as their own home or preschool).

Age recommendation: 3+
