Good looking, wisecracking house painter Jacko loves women. All women. Young or old, pretty or plain, fat or thin... he just cannot leave them alone. The trouble is, his intentions are often misunderstood, especially by his irascible boss, Lionel (Gary Waldhorn) who will go to any length to keep the saucy painter and decorator away from his female relations and colleagues.

Series Three and Four sees Jack beginning to question his continual pursuit of women as he finds the people around him settling down to married life and starts to ponder whether Lionels secretary, Sandra, was perhaps the one that got away. Is a wedding on the cards? And can he ever shake off Lionels daughter, Leslie, who continues to be unlucky in love? Going into business for himself may provide the answers.
