About the Author and Illustrator

Jill Murphy is one of this country's best-known author/illustrators. She wrote and illustrated her first book, the bestselling The Worst Witch , while still only eighteen. She won the Smarties Prize for The Last Noo-noo in 1995. She lives in Bodmin, Cornwall.
