Booktopia Comments
An absolutely gorgeous small format hardcover book. Terrific illustrations that are funny or very cute. There are photos, copies of hand written notes, and other bits and pieces. It is an alphabetic collection of all the relevant things you need to know about Roald Dahl. As it is such a high quality cover and internal printing it is definitely the perfect gift for any child aged 7 to 12, especially if they are already familiar with Willy Wonka or any other of Dahl's classic stories.

Author Biography: Roald Dahl was born in Wales in 1916. He was educated in England before going to work for the Shell Oil Company in Africa. With the outbreak of World War II, he became an RAF fighter pilot. He began writing for adults at the close of the war, with the encouragement of C. S. Forester.

His first children's book, James and the Giant Peach, was published in 1961 and each of his subsequent books became bestsellers. He is still the best selling children's writer of all time.
