In the first edition of Sydney's Best Harbour & Coastal Walks, local Sydney author Katrina O'Brien wrote a walking guide that literally redefined the sales potential of the genre and `got Sydney walking'.

In under 2 years the `yellow guide' and it's two sister Sydney publications (Blue Mountains Best Bushwalks and Sydney's Best Bush, Park & City Walks) have garnered 40% of the market for Australian walking guides (there are over 200 such books available), and have at least doubled the sales of walking guides in Sydney.

Over that period 1 in every 4 of all walking guides sold in Australia has been Harbour & Coastal Walks and there are now over 30,000 copies in print. In the 2nd edition the walks have all been re-walked and updated, and the whole book has been re-arranged to better recognise and promote the Sydney Coast Walk - a route now being actively promoted by various Sydney tourism bodies and councils.

The book fully covers the entire route from Palm Beach to La Perouse, and also includes dozens of walks around the harbour and further afield including the Royal National Park, Ku-ring-gai and a new walk from Patonga to Pearl Beach.
