At Home With The Braithwaites

The life of a dysfunctional English family provides the basis for this hit show.

Housewife Alison (Amanda Redman) is a lottery winner who keeps her cash prize a closely guarded secret for fear that it will corrupt her family.

Meanwhile, her husband (Peter Davison) is embroiled in an affair, her eldest daughter disrupts the suburban idyll by becoming a lesbian and her other daughter gets pregnant.

It all adds up to a humorous poke at British life, illustrating that everything is not always as rosy as it seems behind the twitching suburban curtains.
