The first look at the latest installment in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy has been released today to frenzied excitement from Middle Earth fans around the globe.
You can check out the trailer below, along with some questions you might have after watching it.
1) Should contractions be more encouraged in Middle Earth?
It seems like a busy place and time and sentence delivery length could be the difference between getting out alive or being the stock in troll soup.
2) Does Gandalf need subtitles?
He says one thing in this trailer and we had to turn the dial up to 11 to understand it. Enunciate, good wizard.
3) Azog, the White Orc, is awesome.
Granted, that’s probably more of a statement. Sure he doesn’t appear much in the book, but that dude has moves that just don’t quit. Scary stuff.
4) Is Orlando Bloom still alive?
Yes, it appears miraculously that he is, and still ‘acting’.
5) Was the Gobbledock actually a Dwarf from Middle Earth that somehow went into space and landed back to Earth in some sort of Planet of the Apes time freeze?
We say yes.
6) Does Tim Canterbury face off with the Dragon?
Yep, and we can’t wait.
The Hobbit
by J.R.R. Tolkien
The Hobbit is the unforgettable story of Bilbo, a peace-loving hobbit, who embarks on a strange and magical adventure. A timeless classic. Bilbo Baggins enjoys a quiet and contented life, with no desire to travel far from the comforts of home; then one day the wizard Gandalf and a band of dwarves arrive unexpectedly and enlist his services — as a burglar — on a dangerous expedition to raid the treasure-hoard of Smaug the dragon.
Bilbo’s life is never to be the same again. Seldom has any book been so widely read and loved as J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic tale, The Hobbit. Since its first publication in 1937 it has remained in print to delight each new generation of readers all over the world, and its hero, Bilbo Baggins, has taken his place among the ranks of the immortals of fiction.
