Warning: don’t spew in your spacesuit!

by |November 3, 2017

It’s an important lesson that your kids should be aware of: Don’t Spew in Your Spacesuit. Logically, it makes sense but it’s not something one tends to think about (or teach their kids)! Luckily, we have Tim Miller and Matt Stanton.

“We make bodily function books for kids… that are gross and disgusting.” – Matt

“It’s about a little boy who wants to know if there’s life on Mars,” says Tim. “Except he doesn’t realise that his tummy gets really, really queasy as he goes up into space. It’s an instructional book on what not to do.”

If your kid is gazing up at the night sky, dreaming of the day they’ll become an astronaut, make sure they read this book! It’s important to know, just in case. Plus, it’s super funny with great illustrations by Matt.

“Space isn’t for everyone!” – Tim

Tim and Matt are veteran writers, each with their own incredibly hilarious books. And when they get together to write, it’s just as funny.

“With every book we pair a bodily function with something that kids really enjoy. So it started with the Fart Monster… then we’ve had peeing Pirates, pooing Dinosaurs and now spewing Astronauts.” says Matt.

“The whole concept of our book is we want the kid to choose the book. Not the parent. Not the grandparent.” – Tim

So if you and your kid are looking to avoid spewing in a gravity-free environment, get them a copy of Don’t Spew in Your Spacesuit for Christmas! Listen to our interview with Tim and Matt:

Bronwyn's debut fantasy novel Relic is coming out in 2019 with indie publishing house Talem Press. They are to publish her entire trilogy called The Relic Trilogy. In her spare time, Bronwyn writes, reads and enjoys keeping fit (which she undoes by eating loads of chocolate) with Martial Arts and personal training. She can't answer what her favourite book is but she has a soft spot for Peter Pan (J.M Barrie), Outlander (Diana Gabaldon), Stardust (Neil Gaiman), The Illuminae Files (Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman) and Six of Crows (Leigh Bardugo). Fantasy, sci-fi and YA make up the majority of her bookshelves.
