Lola Berry: I think what’s beautiful is that healthy glow.

by |November 20, 2017

You’ve heard it before: ‘You are what you eat’. When it comes to glowing skin, sparkling eyes, lustrous hair and healthy nails, Australian nutritionist Lola Berry truly believes that we are what we eat. In a world of fast food, confectionary aisles and soft drink, it’s hard to stay strong but never fear, for Lola is back with her latest book Beauty Food.

Let’s be real for a second. We all enjoy a sneaky chocolate bar or wine of an evening. But then you wake up in the morning and you have a giant zit on your chin and you wonder what expensive face cream you’ll have to buy to counteract it. Those expensive creams and treatments are not what Lola Berry is all about!

“I think what’s beautiful is that healthy glow and that’s what this book is about – bringing out our natural beauty and natural magic.” – Lola

Whether it’s olive oil for thick, strong hair or healthy fats for plump and radiant skin, Lola’s recipes and beauty tips celebrate the natural goodness of wholefoods.

Lola also includes sensible advice on which chemicals to avoid when buying cosmetics, foods that can have a negative impact on your skin (hello, sugar) and the importance of that miracle youth elixir, sleep.

“I’ll try things on and see what works for me. What works for you might not work for my body. I think you try them on, you learn what you can and you’ll fine tune.” – Lola

Say goodbye to expensive face creams and salon treatments, and start stocking your fridge and pantry with healthy wholefoods!

About the Contributor

Before entering the exciting world of books, Bronwyn served in the Royal Australian Air Force, travelled extensively and worked (still does!) as a barista on the weekends. Books are her true passion. Bronwyn's debut fantasy novel Relic is coming out in 2019 with indie publishing house Talem Press. They are to publish her entire trilogy called The Relic Trilogy. In her spare time, Bronwyn writes, reads and enjoys keeping fit (which she undoes by eating loads of chocolate) with Martial Arts and personal training. She can't answer what her favourite book is but she has a soft spot for Peter Pan (J.M Barrie), Outlander (Diana Gabaldon), Stardust (Neil Gaiman), The Illuminae Files (Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman) and Six of Crows (Leigh Bardugo). Fantasy, sci-fi and YA make up the majority of her bookshelves.
