The Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards have announced the shortlists for 2019.
The Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards were first established in 1985 to recognise and celebrate Australian writing.
Administered by The Wheeler Centre on behalf of the Premier of Victora, the awards are given across a range of categories including fiction, non-fiction, drama, poetry, writing for young adults as well as a biennial prize for Indigenous Writing and a prize for an Unpublished Manuscripts.
The winners of each category go on to compete for the overall Victorian Prize for Literature which awards the winner $100,000 – making it the most valuable literary prize in Australia.
The winners will be announced on the 31st of January, however, in the meantime scroll down to view the titles that have been shortlisted.
