Another Halloween has come and gone, but spookiness lives on in the book world. Earlier this month, we challenged our Instagram followers to show us their spookiest book pictures for Halloween with the Spooktopia Photo Challenge, with the creator of the best picture receiving a tailored book pack.
Competition was fierce, but we were able to settle on a clear winner who well and truly freaked us all out with her witchy arrangement of books, candles and creepy paraphernalia.
So, without further ado, here is the winner of the 2019 Spooktopia Photo Challenge:
This entry, featuring two books from Bill Bennett’s dark and witchy Palace of Fires trilogy, was submitted by Lea from somethingbookishthisway. How cool does that look?!
Congratulations Lea!

What a fantastic little stack of books there – they look amazing together! And any skeleton that loves to read is OK by us.
We loved how this Instagrammer took inspiration from Luanne G. Smith’s The Vine Witch to create this picture (and is that a Mia Corvere bookmark down the bottom there?).
Such a great shot of A Map of Days, the fourth novel of Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children.
We sure hope those spiders aren’t real though …
Monsters love to read too – just check out this shot!
