Thirty years later, Michelle McNamara, true crime journalist, managed to piece together the pieces of the puzzle through obsessive and painstaking research. McNamara, the wife of comedian Patton Oswald, sadly died before completing the work (it was finished by her lead researcher) but the finished book is an instant true crime masterpiece.
