Reilly made his big announcement over on Facebook, while also revealing that he will be releasing a free short story within the next few days to hopefully cheer up his fans.

We don’t know much about The Two Lost Mountains, although Matthew did hint that if readers were to turn to the globe picture in The Three Secret Cities, they’ll see three of five “iron” mountains on it—which means that there are two of them missing … You’ll just have to wait until its as-yet-unannounced release date later this year to find out!

Beginning with Seven Ancient Wonders, the bestselling Jack West series follows an Australian man named Captain Jack West Jr–part soldier, part scholar, all hero–as he races to solve mysteries and save the world.

While you can’t pre-order The Two Lost Mountains yet, rest assured that we’ll be updating this post as soon as you can. In the meantime, why not make your way through all existing 5 novels (or reread them, if you’re already a fan).

The Two Lost Mountains by Matthew Reilly (Pan MacMillan Australia) is out on the 13th of October.
