It’s a big time for fans of Nicole Kidman in unsettling wigs, because she’s starring in her second TV adaptation of a Liane Moriarty novel. This time, it’s Nine Perfect Strangers, the 2018 novel about a wellness retreat with some seriously sinister vibes that proved to be a somewhat polarising read (we loved it though, Liane forever ❤️).
If the prospect of another few weeks in lockdown is driving you to despair, this show might just be the thing to cheer you up. Filmed in Byron Bay by Hulu, the company that also brought you Normal People and The Handmaid’s Tale, there will be eight episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers hitting your screen mid-August (no word yet on whether it’ll be a weekly release or a full drop). As well as our Nicole, it stars Asher Keddie alongside a host of big Hollywood names like Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Bobby Cannavale and Luke Evans.
The TV tie-in book cover was also revealed this morning, and while most tie-in covers suck, rest assured that this one doesn’t. Check it out in all of its glory below …
If you’re still reeling from the ending of Big Little Lies or need something to tide you over until the release of Liane’s upcoming book, Apples Never Fall, Nine Perfect Strangers looks set to be another deliciously deranged bit of TV to sink your teeth into.
And, of course, here is the recently-released trailer. Time to get excited, folks.
—Nine Perfect Strangers will air on Amazon Prime Video Australia from August 20.

Nine Perfect Strangers
TV Tie-In
The health and wellness retreat promises total transformation, and nine stressed city dwellers are keen to drop their literal and mental baggage, while enjoying their hot stone massages in complete serenity.
Watching over them is the resort's director, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired bodies and minds.
These nine perfect strangers have no idea what's about to hit them...
