Earlier today, the 2021 Prime Minister’s Literary Award shortlists were revealed, with authors such as Davina Bell, Danielle Binks and Andrew Pippos, as well as this year’s Miles Franklin winner Amanda Lohrey and Stella Prize winner Evie Wyld, all making the list.
The awards are an annual celebration of the talents of Australia’s established and emerging writers, with the winners chosen by a judging panel in collaboration with the current Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said,
‘Australia’s storytellers and historians have provided a place for reflection as we have faced the ongoing challenges of the pandemic. That’s the power of our literature and the stories being told. Congratulations to everyone shortlisted, and thank you to the judges.’
The winners will be revealed on a yet-to-be-announced date in December. Scroll down to check out the full 2021 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards!

Thank you for this 2021 Shortlist. I have noticed that there is no mention of this year’s Nobel Prize for Literature Winner, Abdulrazek Gurnah on your blog? Hopefully you can publish some more information about Gurnah. I am patiently waiting to receive some of Gurnah’s novels ordered through Booktopia.
