Holy cake and Maker’s breath! These words may confuse anyone not familiar with the colloquialisms of the Aurora Cycle universe, but will make perfect sense to all my fellow fans out there. And so I repeat … Holy cake and maker’s breath, Aurora’s End was phenomenal!
From the first book to the last, this trilogy has been a wild ride. The thing I love so much about any book written by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff is that they always somehow manage to cover every emotional base. Want humour? Romance? Heart-stopping suspense? Action-packed adventure? Thought-provoking contemplations on the meaning of life, the universe and everything? Amie and Jay have got you covered. These two show up to every knife fight armed for an intergalactic space battle. They are emotional puppeteers able to scare you to death while also making you weep tears of joy. I love it so much!
Given that the tagline of this last instalment of the Aurora Cycle is ‘It’s about time’, canny readers might have a clue as to the ‘timey wimey’ adventures lying in store for them in this book. And yet, whatever readers may expect, they are bound to be surprised. The ominously titled Aurora’s End is a glorious conclusion to the series. It also delivers quite an unexpected (and utterly pitch-perfect) resolution for our beloved Squad 312. I never would have predicted the places this story would take me, but boy did I enjoy the journey!
With romantic pairings firing on all cylinders, witty dialogue zinging left and right and a whole lot of explosive, life-or-death action abounding, this is without question one of the most dynamic and thoroughly satisfying finales to a series I’ve ever read.
It. Is. Just. So. Well. Done! All the threads of the story come together so wonderfully that once you turn that last page you will want to give the authors a standing ovation. If you are reading this review and you haven’t yet read the first two books in this trilogy then a) what are you doing here you weirdo? and b) I hope this review has given you the confidence to dive in. Each book in the trilogy is epic and amazing, but Aurora’s End is a true masterpiece so get cracking. And if you, like me, are a fan who has eagerly awaited this finale then rest assured … IT IS BEAUTIFUL!

Aurora's End
The Aurora Cycle: Book 3
What happens when you ask a bunch of losers, discipline cases and misfits to save the galaxy from an ancient evil? The ancient evil wins, of course.
Wait … Not. So. Fast. When we last saw Squad 312, they were working together seamlessly (aka freaking out) as an intergalactic battle raged and an ancient superweapon threatened to obliterate Earth. Everything went horribly wrong, naturally. But as it turns out, not all endings are endings, and the team has one last chance to rewrite theirs...
