Being a teenager is an exciting time. It's a time for exploring who you are and connecting with friends. This can also be a very confusing time filled with many questions that leave you unsure about where to go for answers. Friends might seem to know it all but leave you with more questions. On the other hand, it might seem a little awkward, or even intimidating, to approach an adult with some of your questions. In this book, Dr. Stem created questions and answers to meet every pre teen and teenager right where they are with answers to questions that commonly arise during the teenage years without the fear of being judged or embarrassed. This book covers everything from the emotional and physical changes in your body to peer pressure and how to approach dating. It's filled with common questions, insightful answers, scenarios, and opportunities for you to self-reflect.

Industry Reviews

As a parent, I found the book to be quite good. For my 12-year-old, who is about transition into middle school from 6th grade, and my 16 year old who is in high school, this book was another solution to unanswered questions and teen struggles. They both excitedly stated they found this book useful to identify answers to areas/issues that are very problematic in their pre-teen and teen years. Mostly this book has helped me and them start conversation about different topics which normally would be hard to talk about. I think they should use this book in schools. Sara Chauvers, parent Ontario Canada

Such a FANTASTIC book. Read through it with my 12-year-old daughter who has a slew of different anxiety, depressive disorders, low self -worth and more. She was engaged and open to discussion to my surprise. This book brings my daughter answers, a peace to her mind knowing she's not the only one who struggles yet it also challenges her to think outside of the box and push through her fears. Highly recommend this book. Ms. G. Kenborn Single Parent of a Teen Orlando, Florida USA

Loved this book! Finally, a therapist, author who clearly likes teen girls. I was happy to proof this book and buy for my daughter, her two friends and my niece as a Christmas present. I had to read it first, and after reading it, I couldn't wait to give it to my daughter and her friends. My favorite part of the book was the practical, easy to understand answers and tips for the girls, priceless. My daughter's favorite part were the quizzes and the exercises, where she can write her thoughts and feelings. I am making sure all of my friends put this book on their Christmas list. Susan Whitfield, educator and mother Boston, Massachusetts USA

I actually enjoyed reading this easy to read to the point book, wish I had it when I was 12 or 13, really. I actually was surprised at how it felt like I was actually sitting in therapy having answers to some questions that I wished I had answers to. Interesting how the answers are what I think my parents wanted me to know but sometimes it comes wrong and I miss the message. At 22, I now I still need these answers so yes, I will keep this book with me, love it. Nicole Marange College Student, Stonehill College, Mass, USA

Uhmmmm hate reading but I just realized this is an easy to read book with real life answers. Just reading a few pages at random actually made me a fan of the book. The answers in chapter 1 alone is changing the way I look at EVERYTHING. I've been plagued with low self-esteem and my body for a very long time and I'm realizing that I've developed some unhealthy habits to cope with these issues. I never turned to drugs or alcohol at times without thinking of consequences and life impact as Dr. Stem puts it in this book. Yes, I recommend it to all teenage girls and younger actually.
