The characters come alive in the author's words, so much so that the reader feels as if they are alive in the forest among all these friends. I highly recommend this beautiful story for all ages! As a retired librarian I plan to purchase several to donate to local libraries so it may be shared with many!
Beautiful story and message. The ending was sudden and abrupt. I read this to my 11 and 8 year old girls at bedtime, one chapter a night.

A very well written story filled with happiness and some sadness. Is a great children's story with real life situations with great solutions with great friendships and unselfish actions. An outstanding book. A must have. I bought copies for each of my grandchildren and decided to read it through first myself. What I found was that this book touched me as I'm sure it will you and your grandchildren. This is the type of story that can help us all learn the importance of community and friendship.
