Meet Taylor Jenkins Reid
Taylor Jenkins Reid was born in Maryland but moved to Massachusetts with her family at the age of 12. She went to Emerson College in Boston for a major in media studies, then originally moved to Los Angeles to work in the film industry. At this stage, she wrote in her spare time because she loved it, without ever really realising it was something she could turn into a career. At just 24, she signed on with her first literary agent.
She has since been writing full time since 2012.
During her three years in the film industry, she also met a screen writer named Alex Jenkins Reid, who she would go on to marry. In 2015, Taylor co-wrote the television show Resident Advisors, which she worked on with Alex. The couple now have a daughter and a dog and still live in Los Angeles.
According to an interview with USA Today, Taylor is usually very regimented in her approach to her work. She always begins with the start and the end of the story in mind, and spends all her time working on her drafts to try to figure it out.
Carrie Soto is Back marks the fourth – and presumed – final book in Taylor’s ‘famous women quartet’. Since this release, Jenkins Reid has stated that she plans to take a break from writing before once again picking up her pen.
