Alfie has just been adopted from an animal shelter. But she doesn’t understand why her new family keeps asking her to fetch balls and play with toys when she has another important job to do – protecting them.

Alfie the Guard Dog is a story about staying true to yourself and following your instincts to find trust and love again.

About the Author

Aimee Chan is a writer whose work has appeared in publications and websites all over the world including Harper’s BAZAAR, CNN, ELLE, The Weekend Australian and Cosmopolitan. She is the creator of Kids Pod podcast series and the author of My Grandma is 100, The Very Hungry Reader, Peg Leg Pedicure and The Happy Mask. She lives in regional New South Wales, Australia.

About the Illustrator

Mike Foo (aka Moof) is the co-founder and art director of Woods in the Books, a picture book and children’s bookstore. Mike is an illustrator, mural artist and graphic designer. Since 2013, Mike has piloted a wide variety of children’s art programs. He has also designed and ran workshops for the National Arts Council-Arts Education Programme (NACAEP).

Mike was born in Singapore and lives with his wife and primary school- aged son on the sunny island. You can find him on Instagram @moofmike
