Abandoned by his father after a tragedy, Ben retreats into the mountains that surround the Victorian High Country.

He spends his days exploring, combing over ridges and valleys, submitting himself to serenity and seclusion. He is called upon to aid in search and rescues and builds a fondness for Karen who returns to her hometown to cleanse her demons.

When Karen goes missing, Ben's knowledge of the mountains compels him to join the fray in search of her, forcing him out of isolation and onto a path he has not yet explored.
