Hazel dreams of all the ways they will take care of their new pet after it hatches — building it a nest, teaching it to fly, and finding worms for it to eat. About the Author

Brenna Burns Yu has an MFA from the Fiber department of Cranbook Academy of Art. Hazel and Twig: The Birthday Fortune was her first picture book. She lives in Connecticut with her family.
