Meet Britney Spears

Britney Jean Spears was born in Mississippi, US in 1981. She grew up in a conservative society, and sang in a church choir as a child.

She started performing at a very young age, even being selected for a solo performance at her kindergarten graduation. She sang, danced, and did gymnastics throughout her childhood, before eventually auditioning for The Mickey Mouse Club at age eight.

As a teen, Britney signed to the label Jive Records and began working on her first album. When she released her first studio album Baby One More Time, it debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and was quickly certified two-times platinum within a month.

What followed was one of the most dazzling careers of any modern pop singer. From albums to tours, high-profile relationships to Super Bowl halftime shows, commercials and movies, Britney was everywhere, delivering her powerhouse vocals, dance moves and charm at every turn.

In her personal life, Spears has been married three times, and has two children. She is known for her philanthropy, making large donations and lending her name to various charities.
