About the Author

Mohamed Elshahed is a Cairo-based architect and specialist on modern Egyptian architecture, urbanism, and visual culture. He completed his PhD in Middle East Studies at New York University and holds an MA in architecture studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
