Tricked into losing their secret stash as well, the intrepid chicks investigate and make a series of surprising discoveries. Plenty of comedy arises from seeing these familiar characters outside their comfort zone, and Sugar gives herself a new nickname that fans of the Chicken Squad series are sure to find hilarious. Throughout the book, Gilpin's cartoonlike, grayscale illustrations add to the drama as well as the fun.
