A black comedy that begins at a funeral.

At Uncle Jack's funeral, Max discovers he's the only person who knows Jack wanted to be buried next to his dad, not cremated. Max races against the clock to help out his uncle one last time ... even if that means stealing the body.
  • Dead Certain deals with important issues such as grief and death with humour
  • Short, fast-paced novels, laced with a good dose of humour and which make few demands on the reader.
  • Design includes funky chapter heads, wide leading, generous type and plenty of white space.
About The Author

Sally Gould grew up in Sydney where she spent lots of time creating imaginary worlds at the beach and in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. She lost her way and became a corporate lawyer, but at least realised she liked playing with words. Since having children, she plays with words by writing stories. Sally now lives in Melbourne where she continues to write and let her imagination run wild.
Industry Reviews
There's not a lot funny about a funeral or the premature death of a family member, but Sally Gould manages to infuse 'Dead Certain' with plenty of black humour. Readers will simultaneously gasp and giggle as Max does his best to give his favourite uncle the send off he would have wanted. Dead Certain uses first person to good effect. The reader is up close and personal as Max stumbles from one oops! moment to another. It's easy to empathise with Max, as well as with the reactions of those around him. A very entertaining read recommended for upper primary and early secondary reluctant readers. * Aussie Reviews *
