This book covers all aspects of the design and construction of prestressed concrete bridges in a comprehensive and systematic way. The various concepts are illustrated by an abundance of real projects, many of them elegantly designed by the first author in a structurally efficient way but also aesthetically pleasing. The book offers both theoretical concepts and practical insights, and ample attention is paid to environmental and architectural aspects. I can strongly recommend this splendid handbook to both bridge designers and practitioners involved in bridge construction. Of course, everybody interested in prestressed concrete will enjoy reading this nicely illustrated book.

This book provides a wide range of examples from the simplest precast beam deck right through to the medium and long span concrete bridge structure. It contains the design basis for the various bridge types including the issue of shrinkage and creep. A good book to have in your library and one that you can browse through over a coffee.

This book is a very practical guide for designers containing plenty of insightful case studies. It is extremely useful not only for the early career engineers but also experienced professionals working on prestressed concrete bridges. Chapter 8, focused on curved structures, was the most interesting chapter for me to read as curved bridges are very difficult to design and construct.
