Fractions and Decimals : Years 5-6

The Back to Basics series provides children with the opportunity to practise and consolidate the skills needed to achieve ma stery of the key topics in the Australian Mathematics Curriculum. The 20 units in this book contain activities designed to review and practise t he essential Year 5 and 6 skills for success with Fractions and Decimals .

Each unit features:

• a brief explanation of a fraction or decimal concept</ span>
• We Practise ¶Ê- examples of the concept and how it is used
• You Practise ¶Ê- up to 10 questions to help your child to practise and apply the concept</sp an>
• BOB ¶Ê- a reminder to check the answers at the back of the book

Parents and carers are encouraged to read and discuss the explanations and to do the 'We Practise' sections together with their child as well as playing the suggested games using the removable game cards.

Review tests are provided at the end of the book to check that y our child has successfully mastered the skills taught in Units 1–¶ ¶¼20.
