Adult life begins within the support structure of your friendships, and these relationships surge with every major life event: getting married, breaking up, having children, or making a big move. While constantly in touch with friends via social media, Danish artist Lisa Grue and writer Maise Njor realized that they wanted to have more "real life" moments with their friends. They created The Friendship Book, a collection of recurring questionnaires to be filled out by the important women in your world. The entry pages can be completed one-on-one over a cup of coffee, or the book can be passed around at a gathering (such as a baby or wedding shower) to create a keepsake of a milestone event.
Its Scandinavian style and overall message evoke the Danish attribute "hygge," a feeling of coziness, intimacy, and wellbeing that comes when you genuinely connect with family and friends. Throughout the journal are short passages that provide insight or advice about friendships. The Friendship Book fits into this moment where women are striving to support, empower, and value each other; it provides a place to capture the essence of these relationships in one lovely volume.
