A must read for a mother newly diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer ByTracy on May 15, 2015 Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase Everything has happened so quickly. It's 5/14/2015, my mom told me she was having a "minor" surgery less than a month ago just as a precaution. The small town surgeon lead us to believe it was all taken care of with his stellar lumpectomy. When we met with the Pathologist 10 days later we were blind sided. We walked into that room "knowing" she had "cancer lite.". We expected some radiation and some follow up screening...What we heard was this is an aggressive and invasive cancer, HER2+, 6 months chemo, then radiation, with a good chance it would come back. What??? I read this book the day after the news, between my own Google MD courses. Thank You! I realize every outcome is different, but your humorous spin and gritty truths has made me so much more positive and confident about my moms outcome. I knew she was a Tiger, it makes all the difference. Finding Humor in the Darkest Moments Bysherry zitteron April 20, 2015 With honesty, courage and humor, Linda takes us with her on her unpredictable journey through her breast cancer treatments. Detailed and informative, yet often tongue in cheek, this witty story is chock-full of sound advise and wise ideas -- such as the benefits of baking cookies for the chemo technicians and docs! Linda has written a humorous and intelligent book about a very scary disease BySherry Nisbeton April 6, 2015 I received this book from a friend right after being diagnosed with breast cancer myself. Great Read!!! Marsha Sargent From a fellow cancer survivor Byjohndonneindisguiseon February 1, 2015 I'm a cancer survivor myself, and I don't really enjoy re-living my treatment days, so I wasn't even sure I wanted to read this book. But I decided to take a chance on it, and I'm glad I did. I found myself rooting for Linda (even though clearly she survived to tell the tale!), yes getting pangs of heartache when a particular comment or experience threw me back in time to my own situation, and thoroughly entranced when her experience was new for me. She writes in an easygoing, easy-to-read, humorous style, and is incredibly open about what she went through, sharing the bad as well as the good and the parts that honestly were not good but she made them as positive as possible.Loved it. I plan to share with friends.
