If you could leave it all behind, would you?

Fifteen year old Beth Burnham has just discovered her cousin Charlie Davis in her woodshed. He's a welcome distraction from the stresses of her everyday life, but things get complicated when they both discover that they are cousins whose relationship spans a hundred years! Charlie is a teenager in 1895. Beth is a teenager in 1995. Whose time are they in, Beth's or Charlie's? And when they finally figure it out, they realize that they now have a choice: does Beth decide to live as a nineteenth-century teenager so that she can escape the sad, dreary reality of her twentieth-century life? Or does Charlie come forward into the future in order to escape the life of the factory manager that he hates?

What are the ties that bind you to your time, place, and people?

Industry Reviews

"In GHOST OF TOMORROW, it's 1995, and we meet Elisabeth when she is only fifteen. She hasn't fallen in love with Shawn, yet, but the chemistry is there. She hasn't been forced to choose between family and dreams, and therefore, she hasn't collected regrets. Still, Beth's responsibilities are growing. A mature-reader will anticipate the burdens Beth will assume someday. A younger reader might mindfully relate. Young and old will sense Elisabeth's loneliness. But thanks to a dose of serendipity and timing, Beth meets someone who understands her burgeoning sense of circumstantial claustrophobia and a future out of her control-her cousin Charlie ... from 1895. On a cold winter night, Charlie appears in her woodshed. Or ... is Beth in his shed? Beth and Charlie are a delightful duo. Once again, the town of Greenleigh plays a character in this novella. I loved COMING HOME TO GREENLEIGH, and the prequel did not disappoint. Spoiler alert: the ending gave me happy tears. Maya's writing is so smooth and enjoyable, I read it every night before I went to bed. Is there a better way to end the day? This reader thinks not. "
