Graphene-Based Sensors

Graphene, discovered in 2004, is a novel 2D material that has gone on to have an impact in many areas of science and technology. Graphene electrochemical sensors have already demonstrated many advantages such impressive sensitivity, low detection limit and accuracy compared to other analytical methods. Attention is now turning to exploring the possibilities offered by graphene-based materials in developing new and novel sensing applications. Such materials, including graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, functionalized graphene, graphene nanoplatelets, nanocomposites and exfoliated graphite, can now be reliably produced in large scale. This book describes developments in graphene-based sensors, it covers synthetic methods, physical properties and research trends and consolidates advances in the development of graphene-based electrochemical sensors for diverse applications including biomedical, food and environmental monitoring.
