About the Author

Professor Frances Fowle holds a joint post as Senior Curator of French Art at the National Gallery of Scotland and Lecturer in Art History at the University of Edinburgh. She has published widely on 19th-century art, collecting and the art market. Her most recent publication was the highly successful Pin-Ups: Toulouse Lautrec & the Art of Celebrity (2018) ISBN 9781911054214.
