About the Author

Chung moved to Australia from South Korea almost 20 years ago, in pursuit of becoming a pilot, and in his spare time practised his love of judo. By the age of 30 he had earned a 5th dan black belt, quite an achievement for one so young. He entered many competitions and took out the coveted title of National Australian Champion in 2001. He completed his pilot training but decided to devote his time to becoming a successful chef and restaurateur rather than a pilot or a judo teacher.

Chung is the owner of MAPO restaurant in South Australia which was awarded an Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat in 2012. He has also been winner of Flavours of the World Lifestyle Food Award and Finalist in 2012 in Awards for Excellence Best Asian Restaurant in SA.
