Little Bilby's Aussie Easter Egg Hunt

A pleasure to read aloud, this Easter board book for ages 0 to 4 comes complete with rhyme, repetition and animal noises, and explores Australian animals in their natural habitats.

A group of baby bilbies are on an Easter egg hunt. They find all kinds of eggs - a kookaburra's egg, a turtle's egg, a cassowary's egg - before the little bilbies finally find what they've been looking for: Easter eggs to share with all their friends.

This colourfully illustrated picture book showcases the diversity of Australia's egg-laying animals. Each spread reveals an egg in its natural environment and asks the question 'Whose egg could this be?'. After turning the page, the egg is matched with the animal it belongs to.

About the Author

Yvonne Mes is a children's author, illustrator and devourer of books. She writes short stories, picture books and junior novels. Her stories are published in School Magazine, on the Kids Book Review website and as part of anthologies.

Yvonne has a Bachelor of Children's Services, a Certificate in Professional Children's Writing, and a Certificate IV in Visual Arts and Crafts.

Yvonne coordinates Write Links, the Brisbane children's writers and illustrators group, and is vice president of Book Links QLD (Inc.) She writes reviews for Buzz Words magazine and is a member of SCBWI, CBCA, Book Links and the ASA. Her first picture book, Meet Sidney Nolan, (illustrated by Sandra Eterovic) was published in 2015 with Penguin Random House Australia and her picture book Oliver's Grumbles (illustrated by Giuseppe Poli) was re-released with Yellow Brick Books in 2017.

About the Illustrator

Jody Pratt is a Melbourne-based illustrator and painter who loves all things nature, in particular animals. She also works in a library. Little Bilby's Aussie Easter Egg Hunt will be published by Lothian Children's Books in 2020.
