Maths in Focus 12 Mathematics Advanced has been rewritten and updated to cover the senior mathematics courses: Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1 and 2. The student book is designed for students heading towards an HSC exam, an ATAR and university studies. Each chapter begins with a Chapter Outline that includes a list of chapter objectives and a Terminology glossary, and include graded exercises including multiple-choice questions, HSC-style questions and realistic applications. Investigations explore the syllabus in more detail, providing ideas for research projects and modelling activities and the text includes syllabus grids and codes, answers and an index to meet the new senior maths course requirements.

About the Author

Margaret Grove has spent more than 30 years teaching HSC Mathematics, most recently at a TAFE campus in Sydney. An author for over 20 years, Margaret has continually drawn on her extensive experience to create and revise the Maths in Focus series, which has been a bestseller for almost ten years.

Outside of teaching, Margaret’s interests are many and varied. A mother of three children, she began as a breastfeeding counsellor with the Australian Breastfeeding Association over 25 years ago and subsequently spent several years on the association’s board and three as its national president. She is also an enthusiastic choir member and names concerts with the Stomp Company and Andrea Boccelli as highlights of her singing career.
