My Dad, the Secret Superhero

One little girl believes she has uncovered her dad’s biggest secret – he isn’t just a farmer, he is a courageous SUPERHERO protecting Australia from the Fire Monsters.

The story follows the adventures of a volunteer firefighter, highlighting the heroic acts performed by our firefighters during bushfire season.

My Dad, the Secret Superhero aims to help children understand the sacrifice and effort many families are faced with during the difficult times associated with a harsh Australian summer.

A note from Carly and Seb

As fires burned across the country, our picture book was created in support of Australia’s secret superheroes – our Firies. Inspiration for the book came from our own personal experience of bushfires, around our family farm in Tambellup, country Western Australia.

Seeing the way our family, neighbours and the community so selflessly reacted to these fires inspired us to find a way to shine a light on our unsung heroes while raising money to support fire affected areas.

My Dad, the Secret Superhero began as a crowdfunding campaign through Pozible. The campaign raised over $20,000 with all profits being donated to the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife to assist with bushfire rehabilitation.
