Numeracy Practice Tests Years 7 and 9 are designed to give students an overview of the assessment criteria in each section, and provide detailed test advice on how to correctly identify test question types and how to complete the test under time pressure.

About the Authors

Wendy Bodey is an Education and Assessment Consultant who works with education authorities and schools to maximise the benefits of formative and summative data use in education. She has a Masters in Assessment and Evaluation and was an invited keynote speaker at the 2006 National Roundtable Assessment Conference.

She draws on diverse experience gained through her consultancy and in her former roles as Manager of Assessment Services at the Curriculum Corporation, as a Research Fellow at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and through her teaching background. Wendy managed the production of assessment resources including the Assessment for Learning resources, the Reading Assistance Kit and the Discovering Democracy Assessment Resources and she is primary author of the Developmental Assessment Resource for Teachers (DART) English Middle Primary kit.

Wendy conducts training programs with national and international educators to build understanding and application of assessment data sources, to support evidence based decision making and inform leadership, school and class programs. Her recent work includes lead researcher to the Northern Territory Department of Education and Training for the Smarter Schools National Partnership project, the National Literacy and Numeracy Diagnostic Tools Project.

Wendy is interested in the differing applications of assessment information, meeting the needs of diverse audiences and the practical ways data can be used to inform teaching and learning.
