About the Authors
Fiona Lowe has been a midwife, a sexual health counsellor and a family support worker; an ideal career for an author who writes novels about family and relationships. She spent her early years in Papua New Guinea where, without television, reading was the entertainment and it set up a lifelong love of books. Although she often re-wrote the endings of books in her head, it was the birth of her first child that prompted her to write her first novel. A recipient of the prestigious USA RITA award and the Australian RuBY award, Fiona's books are set in small country towns and feature real people facing difficult choices and explore how family ties and relationships impact on their decisions. When she's not writing stories, she's a distracted wife, mother of two 'ginger' sons, a volunteer in her community, guardian of 80 rose bushes, slave to a cat and is often found collapsed on the couch with wine.
Darry Fraser's first novel, Daughter of the Murray (2016) is set on her beloved River Murray where she spent part of her childhood. Where The Murray River Runs (2017) is her second novel set in the same era, 1890s. Novels three and four are being prepared for release 2018 and 2019. The Australian landscape is home and hearth - the rural, the coastal, the arid lands and the desert. The history, the hidden stories, the catalysts create the powerful connection between her characters and are the drivers in her stories. Apprenticed on a number of contemporary novels and novellas, she returned to writing Australian historical fiction, which is her favourite genre. She lives and works on the beautiful Kangaroo Island off the coast of South Australia. To find out more, visit Darry on her website.
Penelope Janu writes romances about clever and adventurous women who don't mean to fall in love, but do. She sees the humour in developing relationships and human interactions, even when it might not be obvious to her characters. Penelope's novels, whether coastal or rural, celebrate Australian communities. Penelope is a lawyer with an interest in social justice issues and the environment. She, like her characters, is up for any adventure, even though she has a terrible sense of direction. She has six children, big dogs, a distracting husband and never enough time to write. She hopes readers will fall as passionately in love with her heroines and heroes as she invariably does.
Eva Scott lives on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland with her family and three dogs. When she's not writing, you can find her out on the water kayaking, fishing or swimming. When on dry land, it's all about the shoes and the coffee., Jacquie resides in sunny Brisbane with her husband and two sons. Numbers and practicality are a way of life for Jacquie as she works as an accountant by day. So it's no wonder, for sanity's sake, she balances this banality with words, characters and imagination in all other possible moments. Jacquie is an author of a number of novels and writes contemporary women's fiction that is emotionally driven and possesses unique themes beyond the constraints of the physical universe.
She strives to offer romance, but with complexity; spirituality, without the religion. Her novels express a purpose and offer subtle messages about life, the spirit and, of course, love.
