About the Editors
Professor Alan Sinclair is an international expert in diabetes and clinical gerontology and regularly provides advice for the UK NICE organization, Department of Health, Association of British Clinical Diabetologists, and Diabetes UK on matters relating to diabetes in older people. He has produced international guidelines on diabetes care for older people available on www.instituteofdiabetes.org and his co-chairing a major International Diabetes Federation (IDF) project in this area.
He is a WHO recognised expert in Diabetes and in 2014 was appointed to the WHO and International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG) Expert group on Frailty.
Professor Sinclair is the National Clinical Lead in England for the Older People’s Diabetes Network (OPDN) and is currently leading a global initiative on diabetes in older people for the IAGG.
Professor John E. Morley is Division Chief of Geriatric Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, USA.
Professor Bruno Vellas Head of the Toulouse Gerontopole, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at Toulouse University Hospital, and Head of the Alzheimer Disease Clinical Research Centre, University of Toulouse and a member of INSERM (National Institute of Medical Research) 1027 Unit on Aging, He is current President of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG, a non-governmental organization recognized by the United Nations), and founder of the European Alzheimer Disease Consortium (EADC, funded by the European Community).
