In this ebook, peace researcher Franz Jedlicka explains what he understands by "peace mainstreaming". His research is based on the question of what makes some countries more peaceful than others. Jedlicka analyzed this using worldwide data, which he compared with the Global Peace Index (Culture of Violence Scale). In particular, legislation within countries has an impact on their peacefulness (Legislation-Peace Nexus). However, the topics of child education, gender equality and violence in the media are also important. To promote a culture of empathy, the author recommends the more frequent use of communication models such as non-violent communication, empathy circles, sharing circles, peer mediation, co-counseling, peer counseling, sociocracy and peer listening - and the provision of spaces for these. This ebook also contains older articles by Franz Jedlicka.
