Ten fingers, two thumbs, two flat palms and all those knuckles-but our hands are so much more. Ear-muffs. A sun visor. A convenient pair of chop sticks. Cupped together, hands are a perfect bowl for scooping water or rinsing berries. Held up in the air, hands are an easy way to flag down some attention-or swat away a fly. Told in rhyme and illustrated with vibrant photographs, this simple concept book gives a real 'hand' to hands and reminds us all that work done by hands centuries and centuries ago has paved the way for many of our favourite and most useful tools-brooms, fans, buckets and rulers, just to name a few.
It turns out, the mother of invention is right at our fingertips.
