“Just finished Patricia Cornwell's latest novel Quantum and was introduced to her newest hero Captain Calli Chase.
What impresses me about Cornwell's writing and makes her one of my favorite authors is the depth of research she incorporates into a work of fiction. One will always experience a solid dose of forensics and medical examination science in a Cornwell novel (and a staged suicide provides the opportunity to do so in Quantum). Her latest novel adds Space technology, cybersecurity and advanced policing techniques to this core scientific base.
I believe the reader also experiences the author's own personality and life story through her main characters thinking, reasoning and approach to work & problem-solving. If Kay Scarpetta & now Calli Chase are strong, educated, accomplished female protagonists; let's just say the characters are not too distant from the author's own mold.
Oh, did I mention that all of the action in this novel occurs within the span of roughly 12 hours.
An enjoyable read. My recommendation to you is proven in my already pre-ordering "Spin", the second in the Captain Chase series novels, for August 2020 delivery.

“Feels like Patarica Cornwall is back with this book. Sure its heavy on the science but for this story's character it makes sense! With that being said I can also see why so many would not like this one. But I enjoyed it and could not put it down until the last page was turned!
My only complaint is that I need the sequel like yesterday!
