Read Write Inc Fresh Start

This 2024 edition of Read Write Inc. Fresh Start rescues students aged 9 and above who are below age-related expectations, using a phonics-based approach. The Modules are specially written to help students to catch up on and develop their reading and writing skills, reinforcing the sounds and graphemes taught in phonics lessons through further practice. The programme includes a range of engaging age-appropriate fiction and non-fiction texts with diverse characters and broad appeal, ensuring that students see themselves in the stories and learn about different experiences. This pack of Modules 11-15 includes stories about hair dye mishaps, the Apollo 13 mission to the Moon, and the classic tale of King Midas. The Read Write Inc. Fresh Start Modules contain step-by-step activities, that increase in difficulty as students progress through the Modules, to build skills and confidence. Now with a sentence-focused activity to help students understand the structure of a sentence, they later utilise this knowledge and story comprehension in the writing activity.
