Richard Osman is the brilliant mind behind The Thursday Murder Club series, in which a group of four friends in a retirement village band together to investigate unsolved murders.

Osman soon followed this first release with The Man Who Died Twice, The Bullet That Missed, and The Last Devil To Die.

Despite being a crime series at heart, Osman’s works are known for their sharp wit and undeniable intelligence.


Meet Richard Osman

Osman grew up in West Sussex in England. He showed an early interest and aptitude for media while in school as a contributor to Turn It Up, a weekly music show on BBC Radio
Sussex. He went on to study sociology and politics at Trinity College, Cambridge.

Today, Richard Osman is a creative director for Endemol UK. He has worked as an executive producer on numerous shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats and 10 O'Clock Live.

Richard rose to fame presenting Pointless with Alexander Armstrong, and his popularity and tremendous knowledge of trivia led to him presenting his own BBC quiz, Two Tribes along with Insert Name Here, Child Genius and Richard Osman's House of Games.

He is also a regular on panel shows such as Have I Got News For You and writes a column for the Radio Times.

As well as his popular Thursday Murder Club series, Osman has also been a contributor for a number of non-fiction titles such as The Very Pointless Quiz Book, The Pointless History of the World, and The 100 Most Pointless Things in the World. Just like everything he does, Osman brings is reliable wit, charm, and intelligence to these enlightening, hilarious
releases.

Osman now has two kids, and is married to actress Ingrid Oliver, whom he met while she was a contestant on his show Richard Osman’s House of Games.
