Full Description

Mr Prim comes home from work.

Scruffy jumps with joy.

But Mr Prim shoos Scruffy away

and plays with Silk instead.

Scruffy feels unwanted until one night...

A story about family relationships and belonging.

This book explores the personalities of two characters and concludes that they are both important in their own different ways. It is good for opening discussion about individual differences.

As an early reader book, the simple text uses alliteration, repetition, and descriptive action words

Industry Reviews

'The simple text uses alliteration, repetition, and descriptive action words aimed at early primary school readers. Scruffy is an appealing hairy little terrier and quite a contrast to the elegant and decorous Silk. The hand-drawn pencil illustrations by Kaz Clarke bring the story to life, with Scruffy's expressive eyes and Silk's monobrow and bow tied around the top knot on her head.'
