Without warning, Elise was grabbed from behind, arms pinned to her side. She struggled, knocking over the coffee table. The wine glass shattered on the floor. Prawn salad and phone went flying. She caught a glimpse of a black-clad body. Rough arms reached around and stretched duct tape over her mouth.

Afresh investigation for police officers Kaylee and Ben. Elise, a young private investigator is kidnapped and hidden in an abandoned farmhouse. Only one man knows where she is and an accident has left him in a coma, fighting for his life. Two families with criminal connections are at the heart of the investigation but they are unwilling to assist the police for fear of incriminating themselves. Can the police work through the clues to find her before it’s too late? A story of dishonour, resilience, love and death.

About the Author

Alison Trimper has enjoyed a lifelong fascination with words – writing short stories, compiling family anecdotes, and writing stories for children. Search for Elise is her second novel and is set in rural New South Wales, as is her first novel, Divine Hayfields. She gathered her understanding of rural life growing up on the family farm near Glen Innes, New South Wales. Alison and her husband farmed tea trees on the mid-north coast of New South Wales.
She then became a mature-age student and completed her education degree, followed by a Masters in Special Education. Alison greatly enjoyed her years teaching and consistently reminded her students that words, when correctly used, can paint pictures just as detailed and evocative as artists’ mediums.

Alison is now retired and lives with her husband on the outskirts of Toowoomba. Her three adult sons and their families are frequent visitors. Alison enjoys cooking for large family gatherings and the leisurely conversation-filled meals that follow. She also enjoys bushwalking and watercolour painting.
Industry Reviews

"Dumped and alone in an abandoned farmhouse, Elise wastes no time using every resource to free herself and head towards safety. It is a fast-moving, engaging tale with a strongly Australian flavour of graft, corruption, deception, positive transformation, and hope."

- Marion Hughes, author of the Dark Illusion Trilogy.

"Explores the corrupt and dysfunctional families in a small country town. She uses her wits to escape and find her way home. The mothers have to step up to matriarchal status in the feuding families. Search for Elise matches the intrigue of Divine Hayfields. Hidden secrets unravel page by page."

- Judith Flitcroft, author of Walk Back in Time
