'The most beautiful and profound thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.' - Albert Einstein.
Mindreading is the popular showbiz term for telepathic demonstrations or extrasensory perception. Today it's entertainment, but the future may find it a form of everyday communication. Including authentic background information on recorded telepathy demonstrations and objective evidence of mindreading as a psychological phenomenon, Ormond McGill offers his readers the opportunity to practice and hone their own natural telepathic abilities.
The companion to this volume, The New Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism has already become known as 'the bible' for stage hypnotists.
Industry Reviews
A companion to his New Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism, which had started thousands on careers as stage hypnotists. Study of this new book and practice of the techniques could possibly start thousands more on careers as stage mindreaders.
Dwight Damon, President, National Guild of Hypnotists
A spectacular piece of work... You will find this book to be an exciting and fascinating volume of enormous mental experiments that will enthrall your audiences over and over again.
Jerry Valley, Stage Hypnotist
Ormond McGill was in Australia in 1990 and I well remember attending the three day course he conducted and being entertained on the Saturday night with a Magic and Hypnosis show he presented. McGill is a prolific writer who shares his vast knowledge on a wide range of subjects with the main focus on Magic and Hypnotism. aOrmond McGill is also a naturalist of prominence, his contributions in entomology and conchology being well known in these fields.a Here is a book that is fascinating in every way. The first part of the book covers the historical, documented experiments conducted in the late 1800's on mind reading. aPsychic channel connectiona is discussed, exercises are given for practising and McGill says aTime and space are non existent in the realm of thought. And never look upon telepathy as being something mystical. It may be supernormal, but it's most certainly not supernatural.a Development exercises on Mindreading are explained, show routines are shared and the goal is to produce a aGreat Showa, with the encouraging words aPractice! Practice! Practice!a urging the reader on. As Hypnotherapists, we adancea with our clients when in rapport. We observe subtle signals displayed by our clients and having considered the content of this book, I see the relevance of developing a finer attunement and if it is called aMindreadinga, so be it.
ASCH Newsletter Lyn Macintosh,
This book came as a surprise as a lot of the material I was familiar with through studying complementary health practices and investigating eastern philosophy. I had never considered the techniques recommended, such as crystal ball gazing, colour ladder being used to access ahigher mentala powers. The book introduces the reader to techniques that allow one to access intuitive powers and ability to read body language with ease. There are some great examples on different techniques which allows a reader interested in developing mind power and mind reading to pick and choose. They all require practice and a great friend with which to practice them with a however they are certainly a great way to create an interest in your work a even if it isn't hypnotism. The book further on introduces how an individual can use this material as a business for stage use. This is always useful and offers value over and above learning techniques of mind reading. This book is recommended for those who wish to become better presenters of the art and science of hypnotism through mind reading, however it is also a great book for those who wish to develop something that will make them stand out from the crowd as a business tool.
