"The book is so beautiful. It made me cry. Well done for writing it, such an incredible and useful thing to do."
"I have two donor conceived children and they are now at an age where we wanted to start telling them how it all began and how they were made in this very special way. We've looked at so many books over the past few years and this book comes very close to how our journey was. It's beautifully written, the illustrations are amazing and the author portrayed the subject in a lovely simple fairy tale way! Let's keep it light hearted and innocent for our young kids ! Well done J R Silver! You've nailed it and hoping you will bring a series out that covers other ways that we can have our precious children."
"This book is beautiful. Very well written and once my little boy is old enough I will look forward to reading it to him and sharing how special he is. For anyone that conceived a child with donor sperm I would highly recommend this wonderful book."
"A well-written short story that aims to sensitively introduce donor-conceived children to their personal origins. Brought together with some gorgeous illustrations. Everyone's journey to parenthood is different and we need more people like JR Silver to share their stories to help future generations better understand this very personal issue."
"I think it is wonderful that this book exists. It was purchased with friends in mind who are on in a similar journey and one of the questions they pondered in deciding to go down the route was what to tell people, even *whether* to tell people at all and - ultimately, what if anything would they tell their children? This book makes that possible through a human story told in an upbeat, positive way, with beautiful illustrations too. I've read 100s of books to nieces and nephews and this follows a nice, familiar formula that children will be comfortable with: the setting the scene, description of things - big and small, colour - and characters, an obstacle and overcoming it in the end. All this with a lesson of helping others too."
"I thought this was a lovely book. Well thought out and really made you feel for the author in what is a very personal journey. I thought it was a great way to introduce the concepts to young children being funny and age appropriate. It is so important children know their origins early on and that they are not afraid to bring the subject up with their parents. Well done to the author and I commend him for sharing this."
"My 5 year old daughter regularly chooses Sharing Seeds from amongst her other books on the shelf and asks me to read it. She finds it captivating and fun. It gives her a beautifully illustrated window into a world she wouldn't otherwise know about. And it engenders in her a sense of fascination and wonder which is lovely to see."
